Puppies can Learn a Lot at the Playground

Puppy training can be lots of fun! A few days ago, Emma and Tico did a class with me through The Puppy School at (of all places) the playground! Teaching puppies (and adult dogs) to go up steps and down slides, and even walk on the balance beam, can be not only fun, but can also help build confidence. This can be especially important for those puppies who, early in their puppy training, seem to lack confidence. This is not the case with Tico (a calm and confident pup), but my approach is to expose puppies to everything one can imagine they may encounter as adult dogs and do so as much as possible during their puppyhood. Puppies are so flexible and adaptable. Take advantage of this stage in their life to expose, expose, expose, and remember to have fun while you are learning!
